Barbara Berger, LAc
Barbara Berger, LAc travels the country teaching health and skin care professionals the use of microcurrent in medicine and aesthetics. Ms. Berger began her acupuncture apprenticeship in 1976 and received her acupuncture license in 1979.
In 1980, she worked at South Colombo Hospital in Colombo, Sri Lanka for one year. Upon returning to San Francisco, Ms. Berger opened her practice using microcurrent for medical conditions. Noticing improvement in skin texture on scar tissue and muscle tone for Bell's Palsy, Ms. Berger trained with Dr. Neil Goldfarb, chiropractor and originator of microcurrent use for Facial Rejuvenation.
All of the aesthetic benefits of microcurrent grew from use of microcurrent in medicine. As microcurrent for Facial Rejuvenation became more and more popular, companies studied Dr. Goldfarb's work and designed cosmetic programs based on his original techniques. We offer the original training with new techniques and protocols developed from over 25 years experience. Microcurrent for aesthetic benefit increases collagen production, softens skin texture, improves muscle function, helps diminish the appearance of fine lines and helps reduce facial and undereye puffiness.
Ms. Berger's articles on Microcurrent Therapy, Microcurrent for the Next Generation, July, 2008 and Touch, Movement and Microcurrent, December 2008 are published in Acupuncture Today.
Ms. Berger was a speaker at the Pacific Symposium, San Diego, CA on November 5, 2010.
No Acupuncturist Left Behind
We offer Continuing Education courses for acupuncturists on the subject of Microcurrent Therapy use in medicine and aesthetics. Courses are hosted by acupuncture schools throughout the country. Small group and individual training are available in San Rafael, CA.
We offer specifically designed classes for skin care professionals in Basic and Advanced Face and Body Rejuvenation Techniques. Skin Care professionals are invited to attend all of our Facial Rejuvenation courses.
Our courses deliver on teaching techniques with enough supervision allowing each participant to walk away fully trained. Joyce Greenberg, Host Bastyr University reports, "Barbara taught us very specific parameters. She took the guess work out ot it. Her method unequivocally works and there is enormous potential for practitioners to expand their practice. Her method is fast, effective and infinitely more effective than using the needles for facial rejuvenation."
Microcurrent instruments deliver minute doses of beneficial current to the cells in order to return the tissue to a normal level of electrical activity. This allows the body to effectively use proteins and other nutrients for cell growth and repair. Every cell in the body generates electrical current and theses currents are measurable in the brain, skin, heart and muscles.
Microcurrent technology grew out of the expansive field of electrophysiology (study of the electrical properties of cells). Modern science recognizes that the body is electrically wired; that our cells generate electricity. Our health depends upon the ability of current to flow freely through our body. The process of healing begins on a cellular level and microcurrent allows the cells to regain their natural energy flow restoring health.
Microcurrent stimulates the production of ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) which is a "reservoir of energy" for the body. ATP is involved in virtually every activity of the cell including nerve transmission, muscle contraction and protein synthesis. ATP stores and delivers fuel to the cells accelerating healing on a cellular level.
While providing the body with beneficial electrical current, a microcurrent treatment assists the body in producing and more effectively utilizing proteins and nutrients for cell metabolism and repair. Microcurrent restores normal electrical activity enhancing and accelerating the healing process.
