Microcurrent units fall under the TENS category of FDA devices and receive a 510 Certificate for Compliance with FDA regulations.

Unfortunately, there is a lack of training in microcurrent at acupuncture schools. Most manufacturers offer little training in techniques and protocols. As microcurrent popularity increases, new units flood the market with a myraid of features and accessories adding to the confusion of which unit to purchase.

Before purchasing a unit,
consider asking the following questions.

How much can I afford to spend?

How much time am I planning to devote to microcurrent in my practice?

What type of practice do I want to
develop? Areas include facial rejuvenation, pain management and microcurrent for animals.

What size unit will best suit my needs? Instruments vary from light weight and portable (3-6 lbs.) to heavier (15-17 lbs.) and more suitable for remaining in one treatment room.

Do I require a unit that is solely microcurrent or a micro/milli device combining both Microcurrent and TENS?

Does the company offer good customer service?
