  • Microcurrent Therapy for Facial Rejuvenation

  • Microcurrent Fundamentals for Pain & Injury

Courses provide techniques and protocols along with everything you need to know to get your practice going. As microcurrent technology continues to expand, there are many opportunities for acupuncturists to broaden their practice. Acupuncture and Microcurrent Therapy are very compatible modalities offering acupuncturists the best of both worlds for pain management and facial rejuvenation.

Purchasing a microcurrent device can be a daunting experience. As popularity continues to soar, more and more devices are available for sale on the internet, but buyer beware. Some units list as microcurrent but, in actuality are a convention TENS unit and not at all appropriate for treating the delicate muscles of the face.

We offer device consultation by phone to assist and guide you in selecting the best device for your practice.

Treat Cosmetic Issues from a TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) Perspective.

  • All the yang meridians on the face are stimulated for a constitutional approach to treatment.

  • A microcurrent treatment bathes tissue with oxygen and vital nutrients for healthier facial skin.

  • Microcurrent is especially desirable as a cosmetic treatment. It does not cause bruising or bleeding which can occur with needles on the face.

Microcurrent Offers Acupuncturists Numerous Treatment Options.

  • Combine Microcurrent with Acupuncture offering two very compatible modalities, and the best of both worlds.

  • An acupuncture distal treatment can take place at the same time as a microcurrent facial treatment. The addition of herbal formulas, and utilizing distal acupuncture points for skin problems can enhance treatment results.

  • Treat stubborn, sensitive conditions, and patients who are needle-phobic.

It is now understood that our body is wired with electrical circuitry moving through pathways conducting currents from the tips of our toes to our brain and back again. This was proven in 1991 by two German researchers, Ervin Neher and Bert Sakmann won the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine. They developed the "patch clamp technique which enabled measurement of ionic currents through channels in the plasma membrane of living cells.”

Microcurrent treatment is painless, non-invasive and effective. Interest in microcurrent began with use by professional athletes and Olympians to accelerate the healing of injuries. This led to clinical use in acupuncture practices, and other healthcare professionals throughout the US. Like acupuncture, microcurrent has taken a long time to take hold but its time has come.

In the 1980's, expert microcurrent training was practically non-existent. Herbie Berger, LAC (no relation), salesman, and extraordinary microcurrent practitioner lugged 30 pounds of microcurrent equipment to practitioner offices offering to treat their patient's most difficult conditions for a few weeks. Results were outstanding. He always sold an instrument.

Microcurrent like acupuncture is an art. Expertise in the myriad uses of this healing modality develops overtime. Don't get caught in parameters. Regardless of your area of expertise, proper training will enable, and ensure a practitioner's ability to utilize techniques, and protocols that can be put to work right away.
